Workshops with Karen Brouwer, 11th and 12th April, 2015

18 people enjoyed the Seadragon workshop with Karen on Saturday. Below is a photo of the participants with their finished works. Trish Harris (extreme left) was very adventurous and did it on an extremely large canvas!
We have been very fortunate to secure renown Melbourne artist Karen Brouwer who will be teaching two workshops in April, the first workshop on Saturday 11th will be a sea dragon (there is a choice of projects with one sea dragon or two), and a beautiful tulip on Sunday 12th.  Workshops commence at 9am at the Arthur Scurr Room, Mt Gravatt Showground, Mt Gravatt Central and will conclude around 3.30pm.

Both projects incorporate mother of pearl which Karen will supply for a cost of between $5 and $10 depending on the project.  Paints will be supplied, but participants should bring their own canvas - 12" x 24" canvas for the two sea dragons and the tulip and 12" x 16" if you wish to complete Saturday's project with one sea dragon.  Tea, coffee and morning tea will be provided, but please bring you own lunch.  Cost is $20/workshop for non members, and free for DFAQ members.

If you are interested in completing one or both workshops or require further information, please contact dfaqinc@gmail.com

Donna May's workshop in May

We had ten members for this workshop with Donna a nice number.  The Peacock was painted on a matt gold cardstock using a black gouache in outline to reveal the image.  I am looking forward to seeing the finished project frame by all.

Judy overseeing Deirdre's work?

Judith (from north Queensland) was in town so joined the workshop too.

Nice to see Jenny back on Saturday.  Mary is concentrating on her fine work.

This image gives you an idea of our workshop area.  There is a covered area outside the doors, where we sit in the warmth during the winter months, to have our lunch.
