OCTOBER PROJECT

Our October meeting will be a project taught by Judy Minter.  This is a lovely painting designed by Kay Kairahnel (hope I spelt that correctly) who has given permission for it to be taught by others.  Judy will prepare a 30 x 35cm piece of mdf and we start with a stencil and then go from there.  Cost is $25.00  for members and $30 for non-members.  Bring your own painting gear and a stencil brush.  Morning and afternoon tea is provided but bring your own lunch.  Set up will be 9.00 am as usual.  Please email dfaqinc@gmail.com to book in.

AUGUST MEETING

We had a lovely social day this month.  It was a soup and slice day where some of us made a soup, others brought bread and a sweet for afters.  It was fun and just right for the weather.  The soups were Red Lentil Soup (in last newsletter) and Cauliflower Cheese soup (don't count the calories!).  Judy Minter also made a beetroot soup which had a lovely bite to it.  We painted our own projects and generally enjoyed each other's company.  We may have another catered day in the future with quiche and salad or gourmet sandwiches.

Judy and Vi are enjoying the soup.

Donna is intent using the Ipad......hmmmmm.....is that the sound of a game I hear?

Trish was brushing up a storm, base coating an oval in MDF.

Someone has a lot of pens don't they.

Judy and Jenny are researching a site to visit on an up and coming road trip.

Mary is painting a little fairy, everyone else is busy.

The soup station.  We brought in our slow cookers to bring the soup up to heat.

Cauliflower and Cheese Soup

Red Lentil Soup.

At our September meeting we will be painting for the October Craft Show.  We should have a good 'show and tell' that day.  We may even put together another catered day as it much easier than remembering to bring your own lunch and obviously painters are good caterers as well.  Who would have thought??

If you would like to join us, we set up at 9.00 am, have a short meeting at 10.00 am and then paint till afternoon.  There is a $5.00 meeting fee and morning and afternoon tea is supplied.
